These statistics compile information on companies in the service sector obtained through the Annual Survey of Services, which investigates almost all the market services, which in turn account for approximately 70% of the gross added value in the service sector. It is a sample-based survey performed annually by the INE in conjunction with Idescat for Catalonia, in accordance with the agreements signed by both institutes.
Its main purpose is to study the economic characteristics of companies in the different service branches, such as main activity, employment and all the relevant concepts linked to company accounting:

Each grouping is sub-divided into sectors, which are in turn divided into branches. In the case of the retail grouping, there is also a third level of breakdown (sub-branches). For each sector and branch, the following tables are published:
