Territorial identification for statistical purposes for areas outside Catalonia are set by the following statistical bodies: the INE (for municipalities and provinces and population units; Eurostat for European regions and countries; and UNSD for countries as statistical bodies.
The International Standards Organization (ISO) has also set a norm for identifying countries.
