Economically Active Population Survey. Training and Labour Conditions. 2023

A total of 24.3% of the employed population in Catalonia stated that they had worked at least one Saturday each month in 2023 (0.5 points less than the year before), according to the Economically Active Population Survey. The employed population who worked at least one Sunday each month was 16.2% (1.1 points less than in 2022).

Regarding shift work, the percentage of male employees who worked in shifts increased by 2.6 points compared to 2022 (21.4%). In the case of women, the proportion rose by 1.7 points (15.1%).

16.5% of the employed population worked more than half of days until late in the afternoon (1 point higher than in 2022). By sex, 18.5% of men and 14.4% of women did so.

In 2023, 9.3% of employed men were executives of small, medium-sized or large enterprises, compared with 6.0% of employed women. Furthermore, 73.0% of employed women had bosses and no subordinates, while this is the case for 61.4% of men.
