Industrial Production Index. 03/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 5.9% year-over-year in Catalonia in March 2024. By large industrial sectors, increased consumer goods (7.7%), capital goods (4.9%), and intermediate goods (4.9%); while decreased energy (3.9%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 7.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) decreased by 7.0%. By large industrial sectors, all decreased: capital goods (− 8.7%), intermediate goods (−7.7%), energy (−5.7%) and consumer goods (−5.6%).

Moreover, by industrial divisions registered increases the manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (3.2%) and manufacture of pharmaceutical products (1.4%); while, the most prominent decreases are in other manufacturing industries (−18.0%) and in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−17.8%).
